About me
Born in Africa, my childhood was largely a barefoot affair, I was generally covered in dirt and almost always happy. When I wasn't climbing trees, riding my bicycle, or collecting insects and amphibians in the rivers and ponds, I was usually to be found sketching and painting. Enjoying nature and exploring my creative side have always been central to my life.
After studying fine art and graphic design, I started my own design agency, which I operated for about 15 years, before changing direction to pursue my original passion for creating original art.
I have have been fortunate to have lived in areas known for their natural beauty - Cape Town, South Africa, Dorset on the South West coast of England, and now North Devon on the West Coast of England. This has been instrumental in sustaining my love affair with nature. I'm always happiest exploring the ever changing coastline where land meets sea.
My artistic style varies, but generally I favour textural, impressionist and midcentury styles. My natural curiosity leads me to explore different styles as well as mediums, but I tend to favour watercolours - I love the unpredictability and the happy accidents you get from them.
I hope you find something on my site that inspires you, and you enjoy my work as much as I enjoyed making it.
